At the end of October, GTC’s annual customer event 2024 edition brought our team and clients together in Dubai.
As a company that champions a fully remote, global team model, we understand the great power of in-person interactions. This annual event brought team members from across the globe together with key clients to strengthen relationships, share ideas, and, most importantly, grow together.
With its blend of modernity and accessibility, Dubai offered opportunities for both work and play. From F1 racing simulators to minigolf, team workshops, and visits to key local clients, this year’s event truly encapsulated the essence of GTC: global collaboration with a human touch.
GTC Customer Events
The annual GTC customer event is a cherished tradition that reflects our core values. Building meaningful relationships has been central to the company’s operation since its inception in 2016.
Over the years, these events have become more than a meeting; they are a testament to our commitment to collaboration and innovation. Past editions have taken us to Munich in Germany, St. Johann in Pongau in Austria, Seville and Aracena in Spain, and now Dubai.
By gathering the entire GTC team and inviting key clients, these events became powerful networking platforms where ideas flow freely, partnerships deepen, and industry connections thrive.
GTC Customer Event: 2024 Dubai Edition – A Key Component of the Company Culture
GTC’s fully remote model is one of our defining characteristics. Spanning four continents, our team thrives on flexibility and innovation, with each member contributing their expertise from anywhere in the world.
Being fully remote allows our company to remain flexible, fast and versatile in offering our services to all four corners of the world. However, we recognise the value of occasional in-person interactions. Regardless of how well-tuned our remote workflows are, there will always be room for that special drop of in-person magic that makes a group excel at what they do. And events like our annual gathering bridge this gap, allowing our team to connect deeper.
2024 Took Us to Sunny Dubai
Choosing Dubai as this year’s host city was no coincidence. First, its geographical location made it accessible to most participants from around the world. Second, with GTC’s recruitment department and many of our clients based in Dubai, the city was a natural choice.
Dubai’s blend of business and leisure opportunities also allowed us to create a balanced agenda combining professional growth and team bonding.
The GTC Team Day
The event kicked off with a day dedicated entirely to our team. Presentations, brainstorming sessions, and moments of reflection set the tone for a productive and energizing week.
This day wasn’t just about work—it was about coming together as a unified team, sharing ideas, and envisioning the future of GTC. Last but not least, we took the time to vote on the location for the GTC Customer Event 2025, disclosed at the end of the article. 😊
F1 Racing Simulator
One of the highlights of the event was the F1 racing simulator challenge at the Teleios Dome, where the entire group of colleagues and clients (around 50 persons in total) joined in an extraordinary virtual racing experience.
The leaderboard featured some standout performances:
- 🥇 Felipe Castillo took first place. (It’s hard to be surprised here as Felipe is a skilled track driver in real life!)
- 🥈 Steffen Sorrell followed closely.
- 🥉 Craig Allen rounded out the top three.
3D Minigolf
Our next stop was at the 3D Blacklight Mini Golf court. Dubai’s fluorescent 3D mini golf course provided a more relaxed but equally competitive activity. GTC colleagues and clients navigated the challenging terrains, unexpected twists, and creative themes of the course, making every swing a memorable moment.
This activity highlighted the lighter side of the event, allowing participants to unwind, laugh, and enjoy the company of their peers in a casual yet engaging setting.
A Greek Style Party
The GTC Customer Event wrapped up with a Greek-style dinner and party at the Gallery740 restaurant. The evening featured live music, karaoke, fun surprises, and a magic moment. Colleagues and clients took to the dance floor, enjoying a lively atmosphere that allowed everyone to unwind. (And yes, before you ask, a lot of plate smashing was involved.)
This was the perfect way to close the event, combining good food, entertainment, and shared moments that reinforced the connections made throughout the week.
Conclusion
The 2024 GTC Customer Event in Dubai was a great success. Why? Because it highlights the value of coming together in a remote-first world. It combined productive discussions with opportunities to connect and collaborate in person.
